Hi There!

I’m so glad you found this site. My name is Ashley, and not too long ago, I was just like you. I felt overwhelmed by the transition to adulthood, and I desperately wanted someone to just give me the cheatsheet to college.

So that’s what I want to do for you.

I created this website to help you navigate that transition without the headaches that I endured. Whether you are a high school senior, a recent graduate, or somewhere in between, this website can help you make the most of your college experience.

Who Am I?

About Me

My name is Ashley. I’m a high-achieving doer who can’t rest until I get things done. I believe that life is short and that you should do what you like, travel as much as you want, and find what gives you meaning.

However, I didn’t always see things this way. Throughout high school, I had a one-track mind. All I wanted to do was get into a good university, get scholarships, then figure out what to do from there. And I did that. I got into a great school with a scholarship that paid my entire tuition. But once I got there, it all felt like a blank slate with more questions than answers.

What was I actually supposed to do without an end goal? What did I want to do with my entire life? Was this how life was going to be?

That’s when I decided to take control. Even though I had no clue where to start, I was determined to pave my own path. By the end of my college experience, I had participated in multiple jobs and internships, gotten involved in campus organizations, taught on my campus, been selected for a Fulbright Summer Institute, and helped to write a book. Upon graduating, I was awarded the Most Outstanding Graduate awards in both my major and my minor, and I had held Dean’s List and summa cum laude all three years I spent at school. Following my Bachelor’s, I earned my teaching credential and a Masters in Education in the following two years.

How did I do it? That answer lies within the help of other people and what they’ve taught me. Through my own experiences, programs I have participated in, and classes I have taught, I have accumulated a wealth of knowledge on what it takes to make a successful college student. This is a passion of mine, and now I want to share my knowledge to help you pave your path.

I Want to Help You

I want to help you set goals, achieve dreams, and experience more than you thought you could in college. College is a time of opportunity and exploration. You need to know how to reach that opportunity, and often, you need help figuring out what opportunities are even out there. My goal is to help make that clear for you. Whether this is spending a year in Milan, making Dean’s List each semester, or finding the perfect internship, I’m here to make those dreams come true.

How I Will Help You

To me, the perfect college (or post-high school) experience is one that is well-rounded. People are happiest when they have it all–accomplishment, a thriving social life, balance, meaning, and security.

No matter how you look at it, whether you buy into Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs or Ikigai or balance theory itself, balance is at the center of everything. It’s through this that you find happiness and fulfillment.

Like I was told by so many wise people before me, healthy habits start in college. This is a fabulous time in your life to explore and grow, and as you do so, you set the foundation for you later life.

I want to help you achieve this balance by focusing on improving in the areas of academics, lifestyle, and career + post-college. Taken together, all of these will help you become the strongest, happiest, most successful person that you can be.

If you are a student at SDSU, this website has a special section just for you! Here, I share the opportunities, tips, and suggestions I have from my time there. My hope is that my experience from three degree programs from the school can help current and prospective students with their own journeys.
